JOHN BUNYAN, English religious writer, was born at Elstow, about a mile from Bedford, in November His father, Thomas Bunyan, 1 was a tinker, or, as he described himself, a "brasier." The tinkers then formed a hereditary caste, which was held in no high estimation. Bunyan's father had a fixed residence, and was able to send his son to a village school where reading and writing were taught.

I have come across two published collections that claim to contain the complete works of John Bunyan. The first is a three volume collection edited by George Offor Whole Works of John Bunyan 3VOL book published inand the second is a one volume collection published in by Bradley, Garretson and Co/5(14).
I love reading John Bunyan and am glad his complete works are available. He is quite witty at times and always good read. The only drawback is the print is small due to size of his works, but the actual print is not always as good and clear as it could be, but it is readable so no big problem/5(24).

George Offor (– 7 August ) was an English book-collector who accumulated a massive personal library. Offor entered business as a bookseller at Tower Hill, studied Hebrew, Greek and Latin and became an expert in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century.
Individual editions of Bunyan's best known writings (such as Pilgrim's Progress, The Holy War and his autobiographical Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners) have long been available to the book-buying public.
